Trip to Portugal (part II)

We decided to visit the beach in Porto but when we got there the rain started and the winds were so strong that it was hard to stand and the blown sand was hurting the face.
Visiting Fatima where religious visions took place in 1917.

In our hotel in Sintra with their pets - parrots, from the smallest to the largest.

Pena National Palace built in 19th century under Ferdinand II request to serve as a summer residence for the Portuguese royal family. A Romanticism masterpiece that looks like fairytale palace. (Asta, it is a must for you to visit this one)

Sintra and surrounding area - view from the palace.

Pena Palace looking from the Queens balcony. (sorry, i could not figure out why the portrait picture is being uploaded as landscape, grr)

Castle of the Moors constructed during the 8th-9th centuries, during the period of Arab occupation.
Views from the castle...some more palaces below.
In Algarve, Salema town. First two days the weather was not cooperating - windy and chilly.

 Exploring the surrounding areas.

Salema town, which is quickly becoming a resort town. Further on the hill new constructions growing like mushrooms after the rain. Closer - old village which is also acquiring a new face - renovated houses for the tourists.

A gorgeous eroded cliff along the coast.

Don't blow me from the cliff
Checking out the evening tide. Throughout the day the ocean level rise about a meter or more and falls back in the evening.
Guess: who won the match?
 At Europe's southwesternmost point.

 Portugal's pottery works. So beautiful!

Time to refresh oneself in a COLD ocean water.
